Discover Ramen-San Whisky Bar

If you're ever in Chicago and craving a unique dining experience, Ramen-San Whisky Bar at 219 N Green St is a must-visit. This cozy spot in the heart of Chicago offers a delightful fusion of two popular things: flavorful ramen and a curated selection of fine whiskies. Whether you’re a seasoned whiskey connoisseur or just looking for a good meal, Ramen-San Whisky Bar has something to offer.

From the moment you step inside, the atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between laid-back and chic. The dim lighting, rustic wooden tables, and open kitchen set the stage for a memorable evening. There’s something about the vibe that feels effortlessly cool, making it the ideal spot for both a casual dinner with friends or a more intimate evening.

As for the menu, it’s clear that the focus is on deliciously crafted ramen. There’s a wide variety to choose from, each bowl packed with rich, flavorful broths that have been carefully prepared. Whether you're in the mood for something hearty like the classic Tonkotsu ramen or looking to try something a little different, like the spicy miso ramen, there’s no shortage of options. The noodles are always perfectly cooked, providing just the right amount of chewiness that complements the rich broth and fresh toppings.

But what truly sets this spot apart from other ramen joints is its pairing with whisky. The bar has an impressive selection of whiskies, which have been thoughtfully chosen to complement the menu. Whether you prefer a smoky scotch or a smooth bourbon, the knowledgeable bartenders are happy to recommend the perfect drink to go with your ramen. Many visitors enjoy a glass of whisky as a palate cleanser between bites of ramen, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to the meal. The fusion of these two elements creates a unique culinary experience that stands out in a city full of dining options.

What I particularly appreciate about Ramen-San Whisky Bar is the attention to detail. It’s not just about the food and drinks; it's about the overall experience. The staff is friendly and attentive, providing excellent service without being overbearing. They are always happy to offer recommendations based on your preferences, whether it's for a whisky pairing or a dish that best suits your taste.

In terms of customer reviews, Ramen-San Whisky Bar has received positive feedback from both locals and tourists. Many rave about the quality of the food, mentioning the rich flavors and the attention to detail in the preparation of each dish. People also love the whisky selection, with many noting that the pairing options elevate their dining experience. The ambiance also gets a lot of praise, as the setting makes it the perfect place to relax and enjoy a good meal.

If you're planning to visit, it’s worth noting that the restaurant can get busy, especially on weekends. However, the wait is always worth it. If you’re a ramen enthusiast or simply enjoy a good drink, Ramen-San Whisky Bar is an experience you won’t want to miss. It's not just another ramen spot - it's a place that brings together delicious food, great drinks, and a fantastic atmosphere all in one place.

  • You really can't go wrong with either of the Ra-men San locations. This is a LEYE restaurant and their organized attention to detail really shows. I've been to this location at least twice, both times for lunch. Their Lunch Express is excellent. It's a collection of three different dishes with a fun little extra. Our extra yesterday was edamame hummus. Excellent. The Big Eye tuna ends up as a tasty mini poke bowl. Also, know that the veggie ramen brings the heat -- the spice heat. So if you like that, you will be good to go. There were three of us in the front table booth. We indulged by splitting the most amazing purple dessert. I know, at lunch. Holidays! Can't remember the name, but am posting a picture. Enjoy.

  • A different experience for sure! The bomb Yuzu Sake was a first time experience and fun! The food was delicious and we are glad to have gone! Ordered: Ramen express lunches and tried TanTan Ramen . Ten Hr Tonkotsu (Pork) , the chicken shio ramen with fried garlic was good! The salad on the side of their express lunch is tasty as well! ! The sticky Thai chicken is on the sweeter side but good for starters! Andrea served us well

  • 2nd time coming to RAMEN-SAN, first time at this location though so totals up to two. Service/waiter was good he recommended some dishes and was quick with questions when needed. I got the chicken shio ramen and it was delicious and filling with the Windy City of Chicago blowing. Will be back when I’m in Chicago!

  • Ramen San has great ramen, wings, buns, dumplings, pot stickers... You name it!! We loved all the food and the ranch here is probably the best I've ever tasted. It had a lemony taste that went well with the wings. The ramen broth was rich and the noodles had the perfect bite. The pork belly bun was so good that we thought they sourced the pork from green Street smoked meat!

  • The fried chicken buns were great very fresh and delicious. Sumo ramen was great too very good and filling. Somewhat spicy but nothing too extreme. Would definitely recommend and come back to try more. Also fun fact every two or three weeks there is a specialty ramen not on the menu.

  • The place has a cool vibe. We made a reservation and was seated immediately. I had the kimchi and fried chicken. It was awesome. It had a little kick to it but not overwhelming. Also ordered the fried dumplings. These were outstanding as well.

  • RAMEN-SAN Whisky Bar in Fulton Market is another hit! We both went for the 10-hour tonkotsu and it did not disappoint! The broth was rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, and the chashu was ridiculously tender. The same great taste as our usual RAMEN-SAN location! The vibe here is just as good as the others...fun, cozy, and full of energy! Great music, great service, and everyone’s super friendly. RAMEN-SAN has the best ramen in the city and quite honestly the BEST I've tried outside of Japan! Can't wait to be back!
